Technical support and breakdowns

  • When the power goes out

First check if there is a street light and if the neighbors have a light.

If the fault is in your home, you can do the following:

    • In the electrical panel:

      • Check for a disconnected circuit breaker. Switch on.

      • If there is still no light, turn off the main circuit breaker, wait at least 3 seconds and turn it back on. If necessary, repeat the procedure.

    • On the counter:

      • Press the control button for 2 seconds.

If the problem is widespread, or if you were unable to resolve the issue using the steps listed above, call800 506 506(toll-free, 24 hours a day).

  • The meter is not reporting the readings every month

If your meter has stopped automatically reporting readings, it may be in a testing phase or there may be a problem with the equipment's communications.

For more information or clarification, contact the Helpline, 800 028 028 (free call), on working days from 9am to 9pm.

  • What to do for Conflict Resolution?

In the event of a dispute, the customer, when they are a consumer under the terms of Law no. 24/96 of July 31, as last amended by Law no. 47/2014 of July 28 (a natural person who does not make professional use of the contracted supply or service), may submit consumer disputes to the entities responsible for defending and promoting consumer rights, namely the General Consumer Directorate or the alternative dispute resolution mechanisms that are or will be legally established.

You can also consult the list of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) bodies that have been notified to the European Commission, under the terms of Article 17(2) of Law No. 144/2015 of September 8, as amended by Decree-Law No. 9/2021 of January 29, at the Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs.
